Privacy Policy
Last Updated: October 17, 2026
SHARA (“the Application”) is a Windows desktop utility for cursor highlighting, screen annotation, keystroke display, and zoom tools. Your privacy is a priority, and this policy explains what data stays local and what limited data is processed when you buy or restore SHARA Pro.
1. Core App Features Are Local
SHARA’s core features are local-first. Cursor movement, keyboard and mouse input used for hotkeys or keystroke visualization, screen annotation activity, magnifier/lens activity, settings, and local feature-use counters are processed on your device.
SHARA does not send us analytics, product telemetry, keystrokes, mouse activity, cursor activity, screen contents, screenshots, recordings, settings, or local feature-use counters.
2. Local Data Stored on Your Device
SHARA stores local configuration and entitlement state under %LocalAppData%\SHARA.
This may include:
- Settings needed to run the Application.
- Trial and entitlement state in
entitlement.json, including the last Pro price quoted to you and the ID of any checkout you left unfinished. The trial start is also kept in the current-user registry. - Local feature-use counters used only to decide when to show in-app upgrade or review reminders.
- Screenshots you take, saved to the folder you choose (by default a SHARA folder inside Pictures) or copied to the clipboard, as you set it.
- A purchaser email address, if you buy SHARA Pro or enter an email to restore a purchase.
- WebView2 browser data for the checkout window, such as cookies and cached resources, under
%LocalAppData%\SHARA\WebView2. - Local diagnostic logs, such as
%LocalAppData%\SHARA\diagnostics.logorcrash.log, if the Application encounters errors.
Local diagnostic logs stay on your device and are never uploaded automatically. You may choose to send them to support if you contact us; the “copy diagnostics” action removes email addresses from the text it copies. When you use the Support or feedback links, SHARA opens your browser or email app with the app version, Windows version and package type (and, in email, your language and plan) filled in; nothing is sent until you send it.
3. Purchases, License Confirmation, and Restore
SHARA Pro purchases are processed by Paddle, our payment provider and Merchant of Record. When you open checkout, SHARA loads a hosted checkout page (served from creatorkit.mashyo.com, which loads Paddle’s checkout script) in a Microsoft WebView2 window; if WebView2 is unavailable, it opens in your default browser instead. Paddle may collect information needed to process your purchase, including contact, billing, payment, device, browser, fraud-prevention, tax, and transaction information. SHARA also passes checkout context (which in-app button opened checkout, whether you are on the trial or Free, trial days remaining, app version, and your email address if SHARA already holds one) to that checkout page, so Paddle can associate it with the transaction. Paddle processes this data according to its own terms and privacy policy:
To confirm and restore SHARA Pro entitlement, SHARA uses a small backend hosted on Cloudflare Workers and Cloudflare KV. This backend stores and checks only the purchase entitlement data needed to verify SHARA Pro ownership, such as purchaser email address, Paddle customer ID, Paddle transaction ID, and the signed license. Cloudflare keeps request logs for this backend, and those logs may include email addresses used in restore requests.
The Application may send the following to the entitlement backend:
- Paddle transaction ID after checkout completes, or for a checkout you left unfinished.
- Purchaser email address or transaction ID when you restore a purchase.
While you are not on Pro, SHARA also asks the backend for the current Pro price when the upgrade sheet opens and about once a day. This request carries no email address or identifier; the backend uses the country Cloudflare detects from your connection to ask Paddle for your local price and any sale.
For a purchase, the entitlement backend returns whether SHARA Pro is owned, the purchaser email address, and the signed license. It is not used for advertising, analytics, behavioral tracking, or selling personal information.
4. Third-Party Services
SHARA uses the following third-party services for limited purposes:
- Paddle: checkout, payment processing, tax/compliance handling, fraud prevention, receipts, refunds, and purchase records.
- Cloudflare: hosting the entitlement verification backend and storing minimal license records.
- Microsoft WebView2: displaying the Paddle checkout page inside the Application. WebView2 may store browser data locally and may process diagnostic or security-related data according to Microsoft and Windows privacy settings.
- Microsoft Store: app distribution, installation, updates, Store listing, and Store review functionality.
SHARA does not include advertising SDKs or third-party analytics frameworks.
5. Permissions and Full Trust
The Application requires Full Trust (runFullTrust) and uiAccess capabilities within the Windows App Model. These are required for features such as global hotkeys, desktop overlays, annotation above other windows, and magnification.
These permissions are used to provide the advertised Application features. They are not used to transmit your files, screen contents, keystrokes, cursor activity, or other local activity to us.
6. Security and Retention
Purchase and restore requests are sent over HTTPS. Payment details are handled by Paddle; SHARA does not receive or store full card numbers or payment credentials.
Local entitlement data remains on your device unless you delete it or uninstall the Application. Backend entitlement records are retained as long as needed to provide purchase restoration, license verification, support, refund handling, fraud prevention, tax/accounting compliance, and legal compliance.
7. Your Choices
You can use SHARA’s core free/trial features without creating an account with us. A network connection is required only for checkout, the Pro price check, purchase confirmation, restore purchase, Microsoft Store functionality, and app updates.
You may contact us to request help with purchase restoration or entitlement records. Paddle and Microsoft provide their own privacy controls and rights processes under their respective privacy policies.
8. Updates
We may update this policy when SHARA’s functionality, data practices, or third-party services change. Updates to the Application are handled through the Microsoft Store, subject to Microsoft’s own privacy policies and update mechanisms.
