FAQ

Shortcut questions

How do I change a SHARA hotkey?

Open SHARA’s Settings window and click the Hotkey Recorder box next to the hotkey, then press the new chord. Esc cancels and keeps the old one; Backspace or Delete sets it to None. Draw, shapes, eraser and zoom also let you pick hold or toggle.

A hotkey does nothing. What’s wrong?

Two things cause this. The halo (Ctrl+Win+H) and Keystroke Pill (Ctrl+Win+T) hotkeys are off until you switch them on in Settings, and Screenshot has no key until you record one. And a global chord can belong to only one app at a time, so if another program took it first, record a different chord for SHARA.

Do SHARA’s defaults clash with PowerToys or ZoomIt?

Not with their defaults as of September 2026. PowerToys Mouse Highlighter uses Win+Shift+H and ZoomIt uses Ctrl+1 to zoom and Ctrl+2 to draw, per Microsoft’s documentation. If you’ve remapped either tool, check for overlaps and change one side.

Will Ctrl+Z undo things in my app?

Only when you’re not drawing. While a drawing tool is active, SHARA takes Ctrl+Z for your ink, so a presentation undo never reverts your document. Once you leave drawing, Ctrl+Z goes to your app as usual.

Do the shortcuts work on the free tier?

Yes. Rows tagged FREE work forever at no cost. Rows tagged PRO need SHARA Pro, and every install starts with a 14-day Pro trial so you can try them all.
