How to use the Canva shortcuts sheet

  1. Search or scroll. Type what you want to do, such as “next”, “page” or “blur”, and the list narrows as you type. The group buttons above the list jump straight to a section.
  2. Learn the first eight. →, ←, Alt+Ctrl+G, Esc, B, Q, 1–9 and Shift+/ cover most presentations. The rest of the list is there for the day you need it.
  3. Print it or save the PDF. The Print button prints only the sheet. The PDF is the same list on one page, ready to keep next to your keyboard.
  4. Try the keys in Canva first. Open your design, choose Present and press each key once. Canva’s help says the magic shortcuts work only when you present on a computer.

The effects keys are single letters, so they fire as soon as you press them. B blurs the current page and pressing it again brings the page back. Press Esc to leave the show.

Tips for using Canva shortcuts

  • Rehearse the effects once. C, D and M play on the shared screen, so find out how loud and how long they are before the real session.
  • Use the timer for whole minutes. 1–9 starts a countdown of one to nine minutes. For other lengths, use the presentation timer.
  • Hide the bookmarks bar. Ctrl+Shift+B hides it in the browser while you present, so the audience sees only the design.
  • Keep the page number to hand. Alt+Ctrl+G is quicker than clicking back through the deck when a question needs an earlier page.
  • Do not rely on a key you have not tested. Some guides list a key for starting the show that Canva does not publish. The Present button always works.

Who it is for

Teachers and trainers

Move between pages, jump to an earlier one and start a timer without leaving the keyboard. Pair it with the presentation timer for talks that run to the minute.

People presenting in a call

Canva decks are often shown over Teams or Zoom. The Teams shortcuts sheet and the Zoom shortcuts sheet cover the meeting keys, and this one covers the deck.

Privacy

The sheet runs in your browser. The search filters the list on your device, and what you type is never sent or saved. The site counts visits and tool use in aggregate, such as “search used”, and never your words. The PDF is a plain file with no tracking in it.

FAQ

Canva shortcut questions

Are these Canva shortcuts free?

Yes. The search, the print view and the one-page PDF are free, with no signup and no email address. Your searches stay in your browser and nothing is uploaded. SHARA, the Windows app from the same team, also has a free tier.

How do I start presenting in Canva with the keyboard?

Canva’s help describes the Present button and the full-screen icon, not a key. Some third-party guides list Ctrl+Alt+P, but Canva does not publish it, so this sheet leaves it out. Test it in your own account first.

What are the Canva magic shortcuts?

While presenting on a computer, single keys add effects: B blurs the page, C confetti, D a drumroll, M a mic drop, O bubbles, Q a call for quiet and U a curtain call. Shift+/ opens the menu.

How do I jump to a certain page while presenting?

Press Alt+Ctrl+G, then type the page number. You can also click Go to page in the bottom left corner while presenting. The left and right arrow keys move one page at a time.

Is there a Canva shortcuts PDF I can print?

Yes: download the one-page PDF of this sheet, or use the Print button above. Both cover Canva’s Present-mode keys for Windows, checked on October 31, 2026, and are free with no email needed.

Is there a Canva key for drawing on the slide?

Not on the Present-mode keys this sheet lists, as read on October 31, 2026. To point at or draw on a Canva design while you present, use SHARA, which draws over any Windows app.

Do these Canva shortcuts work on a Mac?

This sheet lists the Windows keys, such as Alt+Ctrl+G. Canva’s Mac versions use Option and Command instead, so check them in Canva’s help before you rely on them.
