Draw on your screen with SHARA

SHARA draws on a transparent layer above every app, so the window underneath keeps running. Laser, Pen, Arrow, Text and the Eraser are free forever. This page shows how to start each one, change the pen width and text size, and undo, clear or hide your ink.

Every tool is on the Wheel (Ctrl+Space) and on the docked toolbar. The keys let you start one without either. How the Wheel and toolbar work.

Questions#

Are the SHARA drawing tools free?

Laser, Pen, Arrow, Text, the Eraser, Undo, Clear and Hide ink are free forever, with no watermark. The Highlighter and the Line, Rectangle and Circle shapes are free for the first 14 days. After that the Highlighter falls back to Pen and the shapes fall back to Arrow, and your settings are kept. See what stays free.

Does the pen respond to pressure?

No. SHARA reads a pen tablet or pen display for position only, so the line width does not follow how hard you press. It works with them, and you set the width yourself. Pen tablets has the details.

Will people in my meeting see what I draw?

Yes, when you share your entire screen. SHARA draws on its own layer above your apps, so a single-window share leaves it out. Share the screen, not a window.

How do I make the laser stay longer?

You cannot: the Laser fades after 2.6 seconds and the time is fixed. Switch to Pen when the mark should stay.

Can I change the hotkeys?

Yes. Every draw hotkey can be rebound in Settings, with a warning when another app already uses the keys. Change hotkeys shows how. The defaults are on the shortcuts page.
